UNIQUESPHERE: Good Day Ma!
GUEST: Good Day sir!
UNIQUESPHERE: Can I meet you?
GUEST: Naam, I am Rahmat Idiaro Damilola
UNIQUESPHERE: Do you bear a nick and if so its genesis?
GUEST: Yes, Lady Raina. It could be traced back to my days in Sec. School when I was so obsessed with Lady Diana – my mentor. And lucky enough I was told to act the role Raina from the novel ‘Arms and the man’ which my class mates cold not resist calling me by the name Raina. So I had to adopt Raina because of its meaning ‘Wise guardian.’
UNIQUESPHERE: WOW! That is scintillating. What can you say about your background?
GUEST: HMMM! My background is made of different parts which I will love to keep confidential for now.
UNIQUESPHERE: That is cool! What about your academic journey so far?
GUEST: I longed to study Law, I had my plans as a Lawyer in embryo. Before my admission, I spent a lot of time at the library, memorized law maxims, make friends with Lawyers, just to make the best of the profession but Alhamdulilah, here, I am in my penultimate year (300L) studying Adult Education. It is no regret because I believe Allah has a better plan for me.
UNIQUESPHERE: What a strong faith! As an Educationist is there any connection with Law?
GUEST: Yes! As an Adult Educationist in training, I realized that Adult Education is not just a course; but a broad term. And as an Educator or Facilitator you can fit in to any profession, therefore, we are regarded as Administrators, Counselors, Community Developer, Adviser and so on. So far you are aiming to solve the Adult citizens immediate problem, you can advise your clients as to their legal rights and obligations which is one of the duty of a Lawyer just that you can speak for them in the court of law. We use client in Adult Education too (smile).
UNIQUESPHERE: You are the Faculty Vice President, what is your experience so far?
GUEST: Age never instill lessons in you, experience does. Your experiences either mold you break, it depends on how strong you are. My experience so far as the Faculty Vice President, I must say; is a mixture of coolness and challenges. I never see myself as what people see me, this reflect to the day I boarded a cab to challenge, I received a call and immediately I dropped the call I noticed a lady sitting next to me stared at me. I greeted the lady and we started a chat, I realized she wasn’t from my Faculty and the enthusiasm in her shown that she was an 100L student of which I was in 200L then and new elected. When we alighted, she said I look so familiar and pleaded to check to my phone sticker which had my faded campaign picture on it. She immediately asked if truly I was the lady on it, she jumped up childishly and grab my hand before I could give a reply. I heard her saying “Oh my goodness! I have been talking to Lady Raina” I felt bit embarrassed as she was trying to create a scene, behold! I was so keen to get her a cab to escape her fervor. It was a day that I was welcomed to the real world.
My challenges as a student leader has been so circumvent by my family members, most especially Mum. The most overwhelming challenge was when I had to stage an innovative program (Lecturers Day) without fund from the Association due to lack of fund and I had limited time to execute the program, I must confess, that time I could feel smoke within myself. I could have dropped the program just like many advised but my conscience wont allow me as I promised such during my manifesto. With the help of my family and friends, I was able able to generate funds for the program and ALHAMDULILAH it was a success.
UNIQUESPHERE: Where do you see yourself in Nigeria political atmosphere in few years to come?

GUEST: YES! I deal in sales, light packaging, and distribution of Tiger-nut and Dates and I am an inch close to venturing in to something bigger.
UNIQUESPHERE: What is your watchword?
