The aspirant for the seat of Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Mallam Muktar Tolani Shagaya has paid enrollment fees for 210 students in Ilorin West/Asa Federal constituency in the forthcoming Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board Examination, JAMB. The beneficiaries were drawn from all the wards of the Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency.
Education is the key to change. It is an important tool that allows a person to understand his or her rights and responsibilities to his or her family, society, and nation. It improves a person’s ability to view the world and to fight against misdoings such as injustice, corruption, and violence, among other things.
Shagaya family is well known when it comes to humanitarian services and this exercise is one of many they have been doing and would be done. While speaking at the event, Mallam Muktar Shagaya said, “I believe that education is the key to a developed society and I am a product of education. Education entails acquiring knowledge to have a greater understanding of the various disciplines that will be used in our everyday lives. ‘Education’ refers to the information we gain and experience outside of books or classrooms, as well as the knowledge that we receive and experience in schools, our homes, and as members of society. Our ideas on life alter as a result of learning, education is crucial for personal development and growth in society.
Education is meant to hone talent, sharpen our mindsets and educate us on a myriad of things. In school, we cover a variety of topics such as history, arithmetic, geography, politics, and so on. These subjects sharpen children’s minds and allow the kid to absorb knowledge from all subjects, his or her mental level is increased. He emphasized some cognitive benefits of learning and education that ensure growth and development in youths such as: stability; financial security; self-dependency; equality; and confidence”.
Also, the frontline youth mobilizer in Asa Local Government, Honourable Lekan Gadaff added that, “the value of education is mostly at a much younger age. Our first tryst with learning begins at home, and our first teachers are our parents, grandparents, and often siblings. The importance of education lies in its continuity, learning is a lifetime process that will stop with our death. It is the foundation for the development of a healthy individual and society. Our world cannot have a bright future if our culture lacks education”.
Mr. Tunde Bakare (Kwara Tabloid) noted that, “as part of the effort in changing the narrative and developing the capacity of youths Shagaya is committed to supporting and sponsoring the youths in the constituency on different skills to improve their wellbeing and creating jobs for the people to be engaged with something meaningful”.
Spokesman to the aspirant, Basheer Luqman, reiterated Shagaya’s commitment to sponsor more development programmes for Ilorin West/Asa constituents and appealed for their continuous support. He urged the benefitting students to be good ambassadors, study hard in passing the JAMB exams in order to justify the generous nature of the sponsor.
The spokesman stressed that Mallam Muktar Shagaya remains resolute and determined in making sure Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency I produces academically sound and morally upright graduates, adding that lack of education is a threat to Nigeria.
